10 tip trackers and ours, side by side: what each App Store listing says it does, what it costs, and where it runs.
Updated October 7, 2026
Who wrote this
We make Tipmik, and it's on this list, so read with that in mind. Here's where other apps come out ahead: 8 of the 10 have a free tier and Tipmik doesn't, 7 are on Android while Tipmik is iPhone only, and ServerLife and TipTracker each have thousands of ratings where Tipmik has none yet. Everything below about another app is what its own listing says.
How we compared
The facts come from each app's listing on the US App Store as it read on October 7, 2026: the description, the in-app purchases and the ratings, plus the developer's website where we say so. We haven't used these apps day to day, so this isn't a verdict on how well they work. Prices and features change, so check the listing before you pay.
“Not mentioned” means the listing doesn't say, not that the app can't do it. “Paid tier” means the listing puts the feature behind a subscription or a purchase. “No” is only used where the listing itself says no.
What we looked at, because it's what matters at the end of a shift:
Free tier, price and Android: what you can use without paying, what the rest costs, and whether it's on Google Play.
Everyday features: cash and card apart, tip outs, more than one job, and goals.
Export and import: getting your history out as a file, and bringing it in from another app.
Scanning: reading a checkout slip or payout from a photo.
No tax on tips: help with the federal deduction for qualified tips.
Sync or backup, so a lost phone doesn't take your history with it.
We left out Tip Tracker & Log, which had 5 ratings and no update since November 2025, and ITipped, a tip calculator for customers rather than a tracker for workers.
Tipmik has no free tier, so everything in its row needs the subscription.
The apps, one by one
In order of how many ratings each has on the US App Store.

Released June 2026. The developer's site shows a Google Play badge, but we found no Google Play listing.
Not a ranking: which app's listing fits which need.
Free: TipSee
TipSee's listing puts its advanced features, tip outs and more than one job among them, behind ads rather than a payment. Its rating is the lowest here, 3.1. ServerLife's free version adds cloud backup, but its listing puts tip outs, cash and card apart, more than one job and goals in Premium.
Android: ServerLife
7 of these apps are on Google Play. ServerLife is one of them, with a free tier, and its listing says you can reach your history across devices. Just The Tips and Waiter Pal are on both stores and back up to the cloud as well.
Most established: ServerLife and TipTracker
ServerLife has 9,817 ratings and has been on the App Store since 2016. TipTracker has 9,426. The next, Just The Tips, has 3,057.
Built around no tax on tips: Qualified Tips
The deduction is Qualified Tips' core feature, and the estimate is free. TipIsServed and TipKeep mention it too, and Tipmik's optional Tax tools track it. For what the deduction covers, read our guide to no tax on tips.
Reads your checkout: Tipmik
No other listing here mentions scanning a checkout slip or a payout screenshot. TipKeepr and Waiter Pal let you attach photos to a shift, which isn't the same as reading them. Tipmik reads up to four photos and fills in the shift for you to check.
Tipmik, on the same terms
Best for: Servers and bartenders on iPhone who want to photograph the checkout instead of typing it, and see take home per hour.
Tipmik reads a checkout slip, or up to four screenshots from a tip payout app, and fills in the shift for you to check. It keeps cash and card tips apart, each tip in and tip out as its own line, across as many jobs as you work, with goals from a day to a year, CSV export, import from another app, optional Tax tools and an account that syncs.
A smaller thing: under More → Appearance you pick a Theme color (sky, lilac, lime and tangerine) and Automatic, Light or Dark. The home screen icon follows the Theme, and Home Screen widgets can match the app or take their own theme and accent. TipSee's listing mentions personalizing the background; no other listing here mentions themes, dark mode or the app icon.
Price: 3-day free trial, then $19.99/year or $4.99/month. There's no free tier: after the 3 days, it's the subscription or nothing.
Platforms: iPhone only. No Android app and no iPad app.
Rating: no ratings yet.
Also: you need an account to use it, and scanning needs a connection.
Switching apps
Changing trackers needn't mean starting over: Checkout, TipKeep and TipKeepr list an import. Tipmik imports CSV and Excel exports, with steps for ServerLife, TipSee, Waiter Pal and TipTracker, and shows you what it found before anything is added. Here are the export steps for each app, and our guide to ServerLife alternatives walks through moving your ServerLife history.
