Answers to what people ask most. For anything else, email us.
Found a bug? In Tipmik, open More and tap Report a bug. It adds your app version and phone model, which helps us fix it faster.
Subscription
How do I cancel?
Anytime, in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. You keep Tipmik until the end of the period you paid for. In Tipmik, More → Subscription opens the same screen.
Is there a trial?
Yes: 3 days free. The subscription starts when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
I got a new phone. How do I get my subscription back?
Sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used before. Your shifts and your subscription come back with it. If Tipmik still asks you to subscribe, tap Restore Purchases.
I already pay, but Tipmik asks me to subscribe.
Tap Restore Purchases. If the subscription was bought while you were signed in to a different Tipmik account, restoring moves it to the one you're signed in to now.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds for App Store subscriptions. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Scanning checkouts
Will it read my restaurant's checkout?
Tipmik reads printed end-of-shift checkouts, whatever system your restaurant uses, though long, faded or crumpled slips can trip it up. You can review and correct the results before saving, or enter the shift manually.
A scan got a number wrong.
Nothing is saved until you check it. Correct the number before you save, or type the shift in yourself. A flat, well-lit photo of the whole slip reads best.
Scanning doesn't work at all.
Scanning needs a connection and access to your camera or photos. If Tipmik can't use them, allow access in your iPhone's Settings → Tipmik.
What happens to my checkout photos?
A photo stays with the shift you save it with, and is deleted with that shift. Photos you don't save are deleted within about a day.
Your shifts and data
Can I bring my history from another app?
Yes, from a CSV file. Export your shifts from your old tip tracker, and Tipmik matches the columns and shows you a preview before anything is added. Shifts already in Tipmik are skipped. In Tipmik, open More → Import from another app.
How do I export my shifts?
More → Export history saves them as a CSV file.
Can I use it offline?
After setting up and signing in, you can log shifts offline and sync when you're connected. Scanning a checkout needs a connection.
How do I delete my account?
Open More, tap the account button in the top-right corner, and choose Delete account. Your shifts, jobs and goals are deleted for good. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription, so cancel that in Settings first.
Can I turn off analytics?
Yes. Turn off More → Share usage analytics. Analytics never include amounts, names, notes or slip contents. Read more in the Privacy Policy.
Tax tools
Where are the tax tools?
More → Tax tools. They're off until you turn them on, and Log shift shows no tax fields until then.
Is Tipmik tax advice?
No. Tipmik keeps your tip record and does the arithmetic. It doesn't file your taxes or tell you what to file. For your situation, ask a tax professional.
